Day 6

We arrived at Istanbul at 7 in the morning. Me and Caitlyn got a decent sleep in the airplane but we were starving. A lot of people from other tours were at the airport bakery to buy some food to eat. The people who are following the same tour as we were are- A big chinese family, a family that took their 7 year old here as well as a newly wed couple who are here for their honeymoon.

Our tourguide is a 32 year old man who Caitlyn refers to "The Turkish Brad Pitt." He is no where to looking like Brad Pitt AT ALL. Personally I think he looks as if he is made out of plastic and has a weird accent / voice. He smells strongly of perfume. I told Caitlyn what I thought and she punched me in the arm. "You girl, are BLIND." she said and looked away.

We were made to do 5 HOURS of walking around the Blue Mosque and Hajia Sofia in a weather that is around 10-14 degrees. "I HATE WALKING" Caitlyn moaned. "It's not fair.. we just arrived and now we  have to WALK?! This is INSANE." she sulked as we got off the bus. Whats worst is that the tour guide kept stopping to talk about the mosque and how "handsome" he is. Caitlyn got more and more impatient each time. "I think you're right, Dawn. He doesn't look like Brad Pitt after all. What was I THINKING?"

As we finally got into the gigantic beautiful mosque  after taking off our shoes and putting them into cute plastic bags, the tour guide explained more about the mosque. "Did you know that the Blue Mosque are one of the 3,000+ mosques in Istanbul itself.." "Did you know that I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE MOSQUE." she murmured under her breath as he droned on and on and on. When he FINALLY let us take photos Caitlyn went to the middle of the mosque and took selfies of herself.

We went to the Hajia Sofia church were there were dogs everywhere and people selling roasted chestnuts. Caitlyn now doesn't bother listening to the tour guide anymore and just played candy crush on her iPhone. The only time she doesn't play on her phone is when we were allowed to take photos- she takes this opportunity to take even more selfies.

After our bland tasting lunch of chicken and rice along with bread with tomato soup, we went to the Ibrahim Palace, where one of Turkey's kings lived in. There was a massive courtyard and special halls where they show the possessions the king owned. Since we weren't allowed to take photos, Caitlyn waited in the bus and continued playing Candy Crush.

After a long day, we finally went to the hotel, where the internet was REALLY slow and the dinner was half decent. The weather was freezing cold even our winter clothing didn't keep us warm.
